Jamboreeeeeeeeeee

OK People! I love, love, love watching my son play football. The entire day was filled with energy....a good breakfast for the athletes, getting the pads & jersey on, heading off to the game with friends & family, parking in the BSU parking lot, walking into the stadium....(don't you have butterflies just thinking of it? I did!), climbing the bleachers and anticipating the arrival of the Meridian Maroon Cougars, a team stacked with great 9 year old boys! Screams, hollers, whooop whooop! Its game time...well, really its only a Jamboree so they only get 5 plays on offense & 5 plays on defense so it was short but very very very sweet! Jaxon had the opportunity to run the ball and he ran for about 10-12 yard....VERY EXCITING! His Uncle Chad got a great picture of him running the ball...so take it all in my friends! The cheerleader in me came BURSTING out at the sight of our team running onto the blue turf....I'm still smiling just thinking of it! When their plays were over I couldn't wait to get down to were Jax was to hear all about it (Jay totally gets the perk of being on the sideline...no fair!). When the coach was done talking with his team Jax came running over to me and gave me a big hug....that's my boy! When I asked him how he liked playing on the blue turf he said " I could get use to that!"....could we possibly have a Bronco in our future....only 9 years to wait and see....until then....GO COUGARS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mitch, Jax & Luke before heading off to the game.
Don't ask.
Game face!
Isn't this a sweet team banner! Coach Chad loves it too!
Some of Jaxon's fans who came to watch him play! Thanks for coming y'all!
My Cougs
This is my attempt at getting the stadium behind Jax...security wouldn't let us any closer than this!....Oh well...I love the pic of Jax
Team Huddle....Jumping, Jumping, Jumping.....Go Cougars!
Offense waiting for their turns....Jax is #20
I wish you could see this picture bigger....Jax is on the left carrying the ball....look closely!

Last weekend JP (my youngest brother), Heather & their kids came for a visit! I always love it when they come! They are some of my most favorite people in the world! We took the kids down to the 8th street fountain to play one afternoon and these are pictures from that event.

The Heather's were pretty happy too!

Football Fever!

We've all got the FEVER! Jaxon started practice this last week and he is LOVING tackle football. When he got his pads, helmet & practice jersey he put them on like 5 times in the first day! I had him running out in the yard, doing football drills (I'm sure they were legit....), it was awesome! Everyone wanted in on the action so Ty & Huddy came outside with their helmets on and Kenna loved chasing Jaxon around the yard trying to tackle him. It might be the first time Jaxon has ever said "hit me real hard, Kenna". She took full advantage of that and socked him in the gut! "NO! Tackle me, not hit me!" he said...."you said hit you" Kenna smiles! Oh the joy...

Jax gets to play on the BSU turf this weekend so stay tuned for those pics!

Jr. Golf Player of the Year!

We had a special surprise this last Thursday when we showed up to the Jr. Golf Championship banquet. Jaxon took 4th place in the tournie based on his age group, tied for first in a putting contest out of 45 kids (ended up loosing in a putt off by 6 inches), but most surprising was that he was voted by all the pro's at Banbury Golf Club the Player of the Year out of all the kids who come through the program through out the summer! I was brought to tears at all the nice things they said about my Jax. He truly loves the game and never have we pressured him to play...he just loves it! These are pictures from that night! Way to go Jax!

Jaxon giving his "speech" after taking 4th
He had to show off his swing for everyone since he got player of the year!
Jaxon sharing his dessert with hungry little brother!
Golf Banquet. Chicken strips, fries, brownies & ice cream...what more could a kid want after a hard day of golf!
This will for sure make it in the scrapbook!
